Sysmex Symposium 2001

Thank you for your interest in our first Sysmex symposium of the new millennium. It was held at a wonderful hotel near Lake Zurich. This is a beautiful place even, or maybe particularly, during this time of the year.

Participants met to share some of the latest developments and recent trends in laboratory haematology and in the application of Information Technology to the clinical environment.

The target was to get insight into the high standards offered by modern laboratory analysers, particularly and uniquely realised in the most recent haematology analyser, the Sysmex XE-2100.

One focus of the lectures was set on the new parameters generated by this analyser and the ability and usefulness of these parameters in clinical diagnostics.

A second focus was the implementation of Information Technology to assist in making clinical decisions using expert systems. Finally we entered enter the “virtual world” and used modern communication systems to demonstrate the implementation of IT solutions in gathering remote for clinical decision making.

For us it was pleasure to present distinguished speakers from all over Europe and from the United States representing a broad spectrum of opinion and ensuring high standards in the scientific programme.
